Project Number: 2020-1-IT02-KA204-079582

October 2020 - March 2023

Deaf Museums is a transnational project funded under the Erasmus+ programme of the EU. The consortium consists of 7 organisations from 6 European countries. Pragma will co-ordinate the project.

Our long-term objective is to help preserve, protect and share the Deaf Heritage, Deaf History in Europe. We will do this by developing Open Educational Resources: guidelines, interviews, surveys, case studies and more, about how to start a Museum of Deaf Life, Deaf Education, Deaf Arts, Deaf Culture, or any of many related topics. A Museum can be a real brick-and-mortar museum or a 'virtual' museum on the internet.

We will produce and collect our Resources in many different ways, but our main course of action will be DIY: partners will produce an exhibition, a 'tiny Museum', about some aspect of the Deaf Community in their country. We will post regular updates (in Internationial Sign and/or the National Sign Language of the partner, with transcripts in English) of our activities. What did we do, what was the outcome? What worked, didn't work? What challenges did we have to deal with? These reports will be posted as 'case studies' and - if all goes well - as 'good examples' that others can follow.
